"I am really grateful I had an opportunity to join cohort 5. I met my teammates and mentors. They were all amazing ladies, and I learned a lot from them. They gave me advice, supported me and motivated me a lot.

"I often think back fondly of the calls with the cohort. I never imagined that working with a women-only team would have such an extraordinary impact on me, but it did.

The energy was amazing. I loved learning with and from other female developers and was over the moon to find a role model in our tech lead. I gained plenty of technical knowledge while being part of HowICan, yet, the most important thing I learned is that there's a place for me, for women, in tech.

It's a sense of belonging that has stayed with me and encouraged me in moments of doubt ever since."

"They methodically built this prototype out for me and walked me through the process step by step. I felt very involved from day one in that all my feedback was taken into consideration, and the outcome was far more than I could have expected. 

I really was pleasantly shocked by how something that was just a bunch of ideas and words swirling in my head quickly took form into a functional prototype.   

Their commitment to stay on task and accomplish what they set out to do was clear from the start. 

It was my privilege to work with these talented women! I hope to get the investment needed to take my ideas to market, and if I'm lucky, reunite this team on a consultative basis."
