The minimum is one video call for an hour.
You can do as many video calls as you like. Maybe you have time for an hour call this week, and then you have time for an hour call after 4 weeks, all is good.
You can hop in and out during the 8 weeks as you please.
The number of years of experience is not important to us. A good understanding of the topic you would like to mentor is good for us. Mentors from any gender, race, or ethnicity are welcome.
You could be a Software Developer, UX Designer, Machine learning Engineer, Product Owner, or any other role that is responsible for building digital products.
Mentor's orientation: 5th June 2021 7 pm CEST
Start date: 14th June 2021
Break: 12th July - 16th July 2021
End date: 15th August 2021
Demo Day: 28th August 2021 7 pm CEST
Context: During the 8 weeks the mentees will take a concept to development to the extent they can. Every week the mentees will have a call with available mentors for that week to discuss the problems they face. Mentees will prepare their questions beforehand.
- It will be a video call a.k.a group session with 2-3 mentees.
- During the call, you might be reviewing designs, showing how to code, and other things related to app development.
It is a progressive web app for social impact built on React and Javascript. The app is trying to remind people of all the good things around them. The people we are building it for are people with anxiety, depression, elderly citizens with their kids living far away.

The combination of coding framework and languages we use are React, Javascript, Express, Firebase, and Material UI.
In essence, HowICan is a community where women around the world collaborate remotely to improve their skills to get a job or a promotion.
Our Members and Mentors: Aspiring UX Designers, Developers, Scrum Masters, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, mothers returning to tech, and others who would like to collaborate on building an app for 8 weeks to develop soft and technical skill sets.
